Maintaining Quality

To maintain our programs, we have to provide a regular account of their benefits. It’s one of the ways we assure the continuous improvement of our work and our service quality, and it allows us to involve health care staff, families, and the university and research sectors in our work. And it’s part of our long-term mission to build awareness of the practice of therapeutic clowning and its benefits.

Measurement and qualitative research certify that Dr Clown’s Prescription of Tenderness program objectives meet your facility's needs and support:

  • The quality of the relationship between patients and clown
  • The broader effect of the program on family, friends and staff
  • How the artists’ approach complements services already in place
  • The staff's acceptance of the artists' involvement in treatment programs

We consider the expectations of staff, family and patients, and then adjust our services accordingly.

Collaboration with staff and family

Preliminary work with facilities, conducting interviews and distributing questionnaires allows us to work in tandem with health care and administrative staff. Our evaluations also make patients and families feel they are contributing by sharing their perceptions of the care they have received.

Collaboration with university and research sectors

Eventually, we would like to work in association with a university to pursue more in-depth qualitative and quantitative research.
