Receipts are issued for all donations over $20.00. WHERE DO YOUR DONATIONS GO?Thanks to your donations, Dr Clown’s therapeutic clowns visit patients on a regular weekly or periodic basis, connecting with them while taking into account physical disabilities, cognitive or sensory limitations, pain and loneliness. The more time therapeutic clowns spend with patients, the closer they come to fulfilling their mission of building and maintaining ties with patients. And to continue to fulfill this mission, they need your help! A happy patient is an easier patient to treat!Fundraising is a permanent concern at Dr Clown, as it needs partners to fulfill its mission. Dr Clown invites the general public, company employees and its corporate partners to put original fundraising ideas into action. SOME INSPIRING FUNDRAISING MOMENTS
Some of the fundraising events organized by the public, our partners and friends are outlined below. All of these events helped raise funds for distributing our prescriptions of tenderness. Dr Clown is active in more than 32 health care facilities in the greater Montréal, Québec City and Toronto areas. Benefit dinnerUn benefit dinner organized by a volunteer committee, bringing together all of Dr Clown’s partners. This annual event is the cornerstone of our fundraising campaign. Contributing and caring – for a worthy cause! Employee fundraisingSun Life Financial: For the past four years, the employees of Sun Life Financial have organized a one-week event to raise funds to brighten up the world for young and old who benefit from Dr Clown’s mission. Ernst & Young: For the past two years, Réal Brunet has led a campaign to raise funds for Dr Clown among his colleagues and Ernst & Young employees. All funds raised are donated to Dr Clown. Sporting eventIn March 2009, Dr. Jean Bond (Jean-Pierre Blondeau) and his partners organized a truly original fundraiser for Dr Clown in the majestic Charlevoix region. The challenge? To ski down one of the slopes of Le Massif on stilts! The event was made possible through the joint efforts of the marketing team, managers and owners of the most beautiful ski resort in the world (according to a number of participants), TVA, Caméléon, Bar Ballon and Rhythme FM and the Dr Clown doctors. The enthusiastic presence of Jean-Luc Brassard, several times world freestyle ski champion, helped rally support. Artistic eventIn October 2009, the Dr Clown artists put together a spectacular cabaret evening. Over 350 invitations were sent out and all funds raised were donated to Dr Clown. They’re thinking about making this an annual event. Raising funds with the general publicThe Publicidad and Syllabes Plus agencies donated a radio spot to raise awareness regarding Dr Clown’s mission and organized a fundraising campaign in a number of Québec shopping centres. WebsiteAttitude Marketing, FIVE and AXS joined forces to help Dr Clown communicate with friends and supporters by revamping the Dr Clown website. Computer equipmentTD Insurance donated computer equipment to upgrade Dr Clown’s office facilities. FamiliesGolf tournament: The grateful family of a little girl whose long hospital stay was brightened by Dr Clown hosted a golf tournament for work colleagues, families friends and sponsors. All proceeds were donated to Dr Clown and earmarked for the Dr Clown program at the hospital where their daughter stayed. Concert: Every year, the D’Allesio family organizes a concert at the Notre-Dame church and donates all funds raised to the Prescription of Tenderness program at the hospital where their two children stayed. SchoolsA number of schools and colleges across the province encourage their students to get involved in the community through fundraising activities such as spaghetti dinners, plays and marathons.
